Covid-19 Update Update
November Lock Down 2 Update
Following on from the Government’s announcement of a national lock down starting this Thursday, 5/11/2020, we would like to reassure you that Oak House Vets will be open and be able to continue providing essential care for your pets and continue supplying their medicines.
We fully support any moves that will help bring the local Covid levels down & hope that the month’s lock down will prove successful.
We are still awaiting full clarification of what we can do during the months lock down, but at this stage we will not be booking further routine booster vaccinations, only first/second or overdue vaccinations & first annual boosters. We will also not be performing routine neutering surgery unless for a specific reason.
Ordering of medicines & parasite products are best done by emailing us on firstname.lastname@example.org as our incoming phones are busy.
We ask clients to allow 3 working days notice at present due to the volume of requests we are receiving.
We are happy to post out medicines if you are unable to collect them from the clinics. This is free for Pet Health Club clients and for a small fee otherwise.
The overall message of the new national lock down is to stay at home. We ask that clients consider carefully whether their pet needs to attend the clinic.
If you are in doubt then email us on email@example.com or ring the clinic on 0115 9667920 to allow us to decide if a consult is needed.
If necessary video or phone consults can be arranged when appropriate.
As before we will continue to only allow pets into the clinics and staff will continue wearing PPE for both staff & client protection.
After letting reception know you have arrived then please wait in your car while waiting for the vet to attend you.
We ask that all clients respect the 2 metre distancing rule when talking with the staff, even in the car park and wear a face mask.
We fully appreciate your support and patience. Like us, you will no doubt feel frustrated by the measures we are having to take but it is important for Covid protection.
We are currently experiencing unpredictable staff absences due to isolation/waiting for test results and as such we apologise as we are occasionally having to change appointments at short notice. Although frustrating, it is important that we do not put the safety or welfare of our patients at any undue risk due to staff shortages.
If you have already got an appointment booked in November then assume it will go ahead unless you are contacted by us to say otherwise.
We will keep you updated by the web site & Facebook as we learn more about the Lock down as information is released from Government & the veterinary authorities.
Please share this information with as many people as you can.
Our staff, customer’s safety & your pet’s welfare are, as always, are priorities during this extraordinary time.
We thank you all for your patience and support.
Please stay safe and help support the community & the NHS in trying to control the Covid pandemic.

I love Oak House Vets. I moved from a surgery, which was taken over by a corporate vets and it lost that old-fashioned personal touch, which I like. Everyone here is so helpful and pleasant and Andrew is a fantastic vet & a lovely person. It makes taking your beloved pet to the vets much less stressful.
