Covid-19 Update Update
COVID – 19 UPDATE 21/09
During the Covid 19 Pandemic Oak House Vets has been proud to remain open throughout for emergency and urgent care of all our patients and for the dispensing of medicines including our flea, tick and wormer treatments.
We thank all our clients for their support & patience through this last exceptional 6 months.
I have been proud of the hard work & professionalism of all my staff working long hours in such busy conditions.
As we now move into the next phase of the Pandemic we are able to expand the care and work we are now able to carry out.
At the Mapperley & Carlton Clinics we are still running a locked door policy and strict hygiene measures.
Please always ring before arranging any visit to the surgery.
We will only be admitting the pet into the clinic & discussing with owner by phone or at a safe distance in car park.
Please either knock on the front door or text us on arrival 07848 473116.
If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or your household is in quarantine isolation & you need to access care for your pet please discuss with the vet by phone.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY WITHOUT PHONING.
Reception hours are currently between Monday – Friday 8.30am- 6.30pm & Saturday 8.30am-2pm.
Please note that our Station Road, Carlton surgery is being used for catching up on the back log of vaccinations & can only offer limited routine consultations at this stage.
Please note if your pet has fallen overdue to the point of needing a second vaccination we will be covering the costs of the extra visit as part of an ongoing Vaccination Amnesty.
To help us cope with the increased demand of incoming phone calls, please help us where possible by emailing us on email@example.com if you require a repeat prescription or have a non urgent enquiry & we will deal with your message.
Please leave your full details including current phone contact number, your pet’s name & current weight [if possible], full description of medicine requests or brief description of the problem.
Please note this includes our Pet Health Club clients’ regular flea & worm treatments.
Please ensure you have at least 14 days of essential medicines in reserve at home.
To assist us please allow us 4 working days notice to prepare your prescriptions.
If you are unable to come to the surgery due to shielding we can organise for medicines to be posted out to you.
Please help our staff by trying to make all payments by card where possible, ideally over the phone, to minimise contact & reduce the need for handling cash.
We may ask for some payments to be taken in advance for new clients.
Please keep in touch with us by our website and Facebook page which will be updated regularly to keep you informed.
We will be adding more information/frequently asked question pages to the website as we go on.
All our staff are committed to provided the best level of care for your pets while working to keep both you and themselves safe during the Covid-19 outbreak and to do our best to reduce the spread of infection and reduce the load on the NHS.
Many thanks and please stay in touch.

I love Oak House Vets. I moved from a surgery, which was taken over by a corporate vets and it lost that old-fashioned personal touch, which I like. Everyone here is so helpful and pleasant and Andrew is a fantastic vet & a lovely person. It makes taking your beloved pet to the vets much less stressful.
