Covid-19 Update Update
CO-VID19 UPDATE 15/06
As we progress through the ongoing Covid 19 we would like to reassure all our clients that during the Covid 19 lock-down we will remain open for emergency and urgent care of our patients and for the dispensing of medicines including our flea, tick and wormer treatments.
During this time we still offer our full normal out of hours 24 /7 emergency cover.
We are able to provide chargeable phone and video consultations to initially assess
urgent cases and then to arrange an appointment or to prescribe treatment as appropriate. We are also able to arrange video/phone consultations for less urgent cases.
At the Mapperley Clinic are running a locked door policy and strict hygiene measures, so please ring before arranging any visit to the surgery.
We will only be admitting the pet into the clinic & discussing with owner by phone/at a safe distance in car park.
Please text us on arrival 07848 473116.
If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or your household is in quarantine isolation & you need to access care for your pet please discuss with the vet by phone.
DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY WITHOUT PHONING.
Reception hours will be between Monday -Friday 8.30am- 6pm & Saturday 8.30am-1pm.
Please note that our Station Road, Carlton surgery is temporarily closed for routine consultations and we will be working only from our main Mapperley Plains branch.
If you require a repeat prescription or have a non urgent enquiry please
email us on email@example.com and we will deal with your message. Please leave your full details including current phone contact number, your pet’s name & current weight [if possible], full description of medicine requests or brief description of the problem.
Please note this includes our Pet Health Club clients’ regular flea & worm treatments. Please ensure you have at least 14 days of essential medicines in reserve at home. To assist us please allow us 4 working days notice to prepare your prescriptions.
Please keep in touch with us by our website and Facebook page www.oakhousevets.co.uk which will be updated regularly to keep you informed.
We will be adding more information/frequently asked question pages to the website as we go on.
In line with current RCVS guidelines we are now able to catch up on our routine vaccinations & boosters, starting with the pets who are overdue by more than 1 month. We will be sending out reminders to the relevant owners asking them to arrange an appointment, currently we are running specific catch up vaccination clinics at our Carlton Branch to help reduce the back log.
Please note if your pet has fallen overdue to the point of needing a second vaccination we will be covering the costs of the extra visit as part of an ongoing Vaccination Amnesty.
Please see separate page for further advice re Boosters, Vaccinations & Neuterings.
All payments will be by card over the phone, to minimise contact & handling cash. We may ask for some payments to be taken in advance.
All our staff are committed to provided the best level of care for your pets while working to keep both you and themselves safe during the Covid-19 outbreak and to do our best to reduce the spread of infection and reduce the load on the NHS.
Many thanks and please stay in touch.

What happens in an emergency?
In the event of needing to contact the duty vet out of hours, please ring one of the normal surgery numbers and listen to the directions given on the answer machine.
What about payment?

I love Oak House Vets. I moved from a surgery, which was taken over by a corporate vets and it lost that old-fashioned personal touch, which I like. Everyone here is so helpful and pleasant and Andrew is a fantastic vet & a lovely person. It makes taking your beloved pet to the vets much less stressful.
